Frequently Asked Questions
General
Q) Can I include a link to
your site from our own?
A) Yes. Please only link to http://www.ukphoneinfo.com or a
lower level page. Links that include the ip address for example, are
likely to be broken.
Q) Do you have any plans to start charging for the use of the
site?
A) No.
Code locator
Q) When I ask the locator
for the area code for my town, it gives me the code for a different
town of the same name?
A) The cross-reference used by the tool does not include
every single town and village in the UK. It also does not currently
include any duplicates. This cross-reference is for obvious reasons
rather static; we don’t have any plans to extend it at present.
Q) Could you enhance the locator to tell me [add your own
requirement here].
A) We probably could, but we try to direct our precious
resources at the most commonly used/requested functions. Feel free to
submit a request, and if we get enough similar requests it will move up
the list. Alternatively, if you are prepared to pay for a development,
we can probably build you a tool of your own to include just about
anything!
Q) Can you provide the ability to identify the post code for a
given number (or vice versa).
A) The only source of this information is the telephone
company who provides the service. Not surprisingly, they do not make
this information public, so unfortunately, the answer is no.
